Volunteer Testimonials
Dear Rescued Not Arrested Team,
I so enjoy seeing the testimonials written by inmates, however, I felt compelled as I pondered today on all the letters I have sent to inmates to write a testimonial as a Mentor. Please feel free to share.
I am immensely grateful for the transformative opportunity provided to me by Rescued Not Arrested, an organization truly committed to touching lives and sewing seeds of hope within the prison walls. Engaging with individuals who often feel forsaken by society, laden with the belief that hope is a distant, unreachable commodity, has been a deeply moving and humbling experience.
Every letter I pen is more than just a compilation of words. It’s a vessel of hope, a beacon of light infiltrating the profound darkness that shrouds my mentees. It is incredibly fulfilling to witness the transformative power of compassion, to see despair replaced by a glimmer of hope, as each sealed letter reaches a new soul, echoing a promise of a better tomorrow.
It is heartwarming to know that Rescued Not Arrested is not just about reaching out; it’s about reaching within, excavating the buried aspirations and latent potential within each inmate. Every interaction is a testament to the unwavering belief that every individual, regardless of their past, holds the promise of renewal and redemption.
This journey has been a beautiful synthesis of shared humanity and mutual growth. It’s about breathing life into seemingly desolate spaces and proving that hope, indeed, knows no bounds. I feel privileged to contribute to this noble cause, to be an instrument of change, and to witness the resilient human spirit rising, anew and awakened, through the cracks of brokenness.
With profound gratitude,
Steve Luke
